Since becoming a mom I have been reading mostly self-help type parenting and marriage books. I do love those non-fiction, informational books, but it's kind of hard to get wrapped up and lost in them. Actually, a lot of the time, it's hard to even finish them. I still read many of them, but I've also made time to read a little bit of fiction and my absolute favorites, memoirs and biographies.
This year my goal is to read more business and photography books. To read to learn and to read a lot of fiction and classical books with my children. I want them to grow up with a love of reading and learning!

What were your favorite books of 2012?

I love this post. I too, read Heaven is Here. Loved it. Love her blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI was one of those girls who hid under the covers with a flashlight too! Cheers to book-people!
ReplyDeleteI read a lot of these, too. I think my favorite of 2012 was probably Kyran Pittman's Planting Dandelions. I was on a major memoir kick and now for this year it's fiction fiction fiction!! Right now I'm reading The Handmaid's Tale and have a lot of the classics lined up to next.

Yes! I've been trying to get my butt back into reading after my university years and motherhood took over. I'm working at it!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job in 2012 girl, wow!!
I was looking over your list to see how many of the same books I read and sadly, all of them with the exception of one is in fiction!
ReplyDeleteFaves from last year...The Shoemaker's Wife and Sarah's Key (fiction) and The Alchemy of Loss (non).
I am so behind this month. I have Shiver on the go but just can't seem to get through it.
