Dress- Old Navy, gift from my sister, Tights- Target, Boots- Seychelles
One thing I've been meaning to do is to start linking up with Lindsey's What I Wore Wednesday again at The Pleated Poppy. I just need to take pictures. Doing it before I get dirt from holding babies on my clothes or to set up the camera or have my hsuband take pictures isn't easy. But, it is fun, so totally worth it. (PS I'll have another outfit post on Friday with some things from No nonsense.) Oh, and Finley wasn't asleep, she just wasn't excited about getting her picture taken.
So, how about them elections? Honestly, I have a lot of strong opinions, but I'll keep them to myself (and they might not be what you expect). I'm not shocked with the outcome of the presidential election, but I am shocked that Proposition 37, here in California, didn't pass. Seriously? Why wouldn't you want genetically engineered food labeled? It's just sad to me that Monsanto and other big corporations were able to pay their way to a win through lying and fear. Ok, my rant is over.
Hopefully I'll be seeing you here tomorrow for Small Style!

You both look so beautiful
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit! Umm, and yes we live in a crazy state.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty color on you!
ReplyDeleteyou are one beautiful lady my friend!
ReplyDeleteand YESSSS!!! it's horrible how corrupt this country is... we judge other countries but look at ours. I've honestly lost faith in the voting system. and to think that billionaire companies and rich ass politicians care about me or my family's well being is just naive. this country is all about profit. not how it will affect our planet or our people in the future. very sad truth. shoot, i can go on and on.. but i'll stop. haha.
love u!!
I got accepted for the No nonsense campaign, too, and I'm posting tomorrow as well! Can't wait to see what you got and how you styled them. :)

Laurel, I can't wait to see your outfits!!
DeleteI've got strong opinions on all of it as well, but won't be sharing much either. I almost feel that I can't, in a weird way.
ReplyDeleteCUTE outfit, mama. Love the hints of gold on your booties!
Cheers.
I was pretty shocked about 37 too. The topic accidentally came up in my workplace yesterday morning (yikes) and I felt a bit attacked. One gal said she voted against it because it's "more liberal regulation," and she sneered as if regulation were a curse word. Another gal said that it was poorly written and would open the door for too many lawsuits. She was the second person that I had heard that from. Another (very conservative, politically knowledgeable) friend said that the attorneys group who wrote the proposition was motivated by the probability of lawsuits. I still don't understand. If it passed, companies would have either update their labels (something they all do periodically anyway) or change their ingredients. Who would get sued? Beyond the logic of "I want my family/all Californians/everyone to be able to make educated choices about what they eat," when I see the companies who are funding the "no" fight, the huge amounts of money they are throwing into it, I am motivated to vote "yes."
ReplyDeleteThat is so crazy! I think everyone I'm around supported 37, so I was assuming it was a given. I did see a LOT of commercials talking about the price of food going way up and the lawsuits. I think that was just the Monsanto agenda. :)
DeleteMorgan! You look amazing. I love this photo! And Finley looks so sweet (you would never know that she's not in the mood for pictures!)
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet, Keely!
