Yesterday the kids and I helped Eric move the chickens and turkeys, their coop, and their run area to a different part of the yard. Then, the kids helped Eric clip their wings, so they can't fly out of their fenced area, while I took pictures.
When we first started moving the coop Eric was pulling it and he wanted me to be inside to shoo them away from the edge. I had one fly into my face and another flap it's wings on me. All four of the kids might have no problem carrying the chickens and turkeys around, but me? Not so much. I do love watching the mama and her baby chicks walking around. The babies chirp and follow their mom everywhere she goes. They are so cute!
Ten years ago never, ever would have imagined myself living in the country, taking care of farm animals. This place that I'm in in life, this place that I'm living in, all of this is so different than what I imagined, but I'm so thankful for this life.
I'm taking today and tomorrow off from the One Fall Trends, Three Ways series. You can catch up here: booties/ankle boots and chambray shirt. Tomorrow is Small Style and I'll be back on Friday with a stripe dress three ways.
