Real Life

One of the most profound mysteries of motherhood is that all hell can be breaking loose, you think you're going to lose it, and only a few minutes later everyone is playing happily.

I try to remind myself of this in the middle of the chaos, when one child is crying and hanging on me and one pulled a chair up to the freezer and is eating ice cream. "It's ok, this will be over in just a few minutes." And, it is. It always is.

So thankful for this gift of motherhood- when things are easy and when they're a little more challenging.
