My San Francisco Outfit and How My Clothes Were All Stolen

SF Outfit
Chambray Shirt- Madewell, Leggings- Forever 21, Purse and Shoes- Target

If you didn't see already, I ran my first half marathon on Sunday. Both of my sister-in-laws live in the Bay Area, so we stayed with the one that lives closest to the race and had plans to have dinner with both of them and their husbands. We had a little time for lunch before I checked in to the race, so we stopped in Japantown for some ramen, sushi, and Japanese photobooth pictures. I have been wanting to do these for awhile and, although they're a little pricey, I thought it would be totally worth it. It wasn't worth it.

Ok, the pictures were fun and were worth it, but when we came out to head over to Half Moon Bay for the race check-in we found one of our windows completely busted out. We had borrowed my dad's truck and the passenger side extra cab window was completely gone. Someone broke into the truck in the middle of the day.

They must of been in a hurry or someone spotted them because the only thing they took was my clothing bag. We had just bought a brand new camera bag and in it were two of our camera lenses and our laptop, but that bag was still in the truck. The bag missing was a $5 vintage bag with my running clothes, clothes for the next day, all of my make-up, and my toiletries. I was SO bummed!

It ended up being ok. We made an emergency stop at Target where I bought new running clothes (running a half marathon in brand new clothes is not my favorite) and things could have been a lot worse. I just can't comprehend why someone would do that. Why would you decide just to go up to a random truck (or car, we saw broken class on the sidewalk in front of us, so this wasn't the first time this has been done) and decide to break the window and steal a bag. I'm sure the their was disappointed when he opened the bag to find a sports bra, shampoo, and other stuff that is completely worthless to anyone else.

I'm linking up at The Pleated Poppy.

  2. EEK! It would totally freak me out to have my stuff messed with... but kudos to you to not letting it throw you off your game. A half-marathon is not something to be messed with and you absolutely rocked it. Plus, this outfit is cute, cute, cute.

  5. Glad your shoes weren't in there, that would have hurt as bad as a camera :) Not to the wallet but to your run the next day. I hope you enjoyed the 1/2, I will do my first next month. Take care!

  7. Oh I'm so sorry about those things getting stolen! We live in a small Sicilian town and have been warned about car theft, but thankfully nothing has happened yet. It has really motivated us to keep a clean, empty car, though, and that's good for me!

  11. Way to go on the half marathon, haven't signed up for one in awhile, but I love hearing others do them; that's what keeps me running.
YOU look adorable in that outfit....I would look ridiculous!

Sorry about the clothes, we definitely live in a fallen world!!

  12. Oh gosh, I totally know what you mean girl. I had my car broken in to the other day and luckily all they snagged was an extremely cheap, and old iPod that only holds 15 songs. Stinks for them!
Regardless, I'm glad it didn't totally ruin your day. You are just too cute!

  16. gah! that's horrible. there are a lot of desparate people out there my friend, its so sad.
my dad instilled in me. always lock doors and never leave purses in the car. people will always think they're something valuable in there.
you look beautiful, as always. and congrats on your run!! that's crazy awesome!!!

  17. Ohmygosh! That happened to me once too. Actually our entire car was stolen... from the San Diego Zoo parking lot... on our honeymoon. But the result was the same, all of my best clothes... gone. This is actually what brings me to your blog. I FINALLY get to go shopping again (it's been two years since this happened), and I'm trying to figure out what to buy. So anyway, thanks for blogging, and I feel your pain.
