Yesterday I finished my first (and very possibly my last) half marathon! I don't recommend getting sick four weeks before a half marathon and still having a lingering cold during the race. I definitely struggled with my training (I did three runs in the four weeks before the race) and I struggled during the race, but I finished! I'm focusing on the fact that I completed what I set out to do and I'm proud of myself for that. I'm not a natural athlete, I'm not a runner, and before a year ago I couldn't even run a mile without stopping to walk. 13.1 miles is quite the accomplishment for me. I think I'll stick to 5 and 10ks for now.
