Finley has classic toddler hair- a little bit mullet-y, thin and fine, with in between length bangs. I love the look of bows and clips to pull the bangs back, but sometimes she pulls them out and sometimes I just want something that will last a long time (even all night and through the next day!).
My neighbor (thank you, Angela!) told me that her hairstylist suggested braiding the bangs. I LOVE the front braid trend, but it had never occurred to me to try it on Finley. I think it looks so sweet and it keeps the bangs out of her face.
Doesn't Finley look excited? Getting her to sit still is definitely the most challenging part of the whole process. Be creative with distractions!
1. Take a small section of hair right at the natural part and divide into three sections.
2. Add a section from each side with each braid, as you would with a normal french braid.
3. Continue down to about the top of the ear, and three or so normal braids after the french braid. If you make it too short it will stick out to the side.
4. Secure braid with a small plastic hair tie. (I use these.) Finish with a bow or clip or leave as is.

I HAVE to try this with Gretchen. Her hair is WILD.
