On Finley: Dress- Misha Lulu, Shoes- See Kai Run via Zulily
On May 1st we went to a May Day celebration with the boys' school. The kids danced around the colorful maypole, made flower crowns, and ended the celebration with fruit salad with whipped cream on ice cream cones and rolling down the hills. One of their classmate's mom (and my sweet friend) let Silas and Finley join with her little group of preschoolers, so they got to join the fun, too. They were all SO cute and celebration was lovely! I love these sweet little Waldorf traditions. Which, by the way, Samuel is loving being at school.
May to me feels like the official start to Spring. This month is busy, busy for us. How will you be spending May? Any fun plans? And, more importantly, what have your little ones been wearing for Spring? (Or, Fall for all of you on the other side of the world.)

MORGAN!!! i have been super busy lately and have missed reading your blog these past couple weeks! the kids look like they had a blast! i have heard of the waldorf way of teaching and it seems like a pretty amazing alternative. later this month we'll be tagging along with the mister on his tour in mexico!! we'll be there for two weeks and i can't wait, we'll be going to new cities this time and once again, mexico city which is really similar to new york to me. its really busy with tons of cool shops and restaurants.
ReplyDeletealso, i wanted to text you this week.. maybe i should email you. or maybe you've written a post on this subject. have you had to deal with behavior problems with your boys? i need help with this. i have been reading some websites on this matter but i want to get more feedback from moms. will you send some links over if you have any? thanks friend!!
hope you have an amazing week! XOXO
Have I had behavior issues? Hahaha! Of course I have, my friend. You are not alone!!
DeleteHave an amazing time in Mexico City! I know you will and, yes, email/text/call/whatever me! Love you!
what a fun tradition! love the flower crowns and the springy colors! i adore finley's dress :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet activity for the kids! I always have to drag my youngest along to school activities, and I love it when they include her in the fun- she loves being part of the big kids!
ReplyDeleteI know! Usually I try to keep the little ones sitting there still an quiet, it's so nice that they always include them at this school. (And, there's always several of the little girls who are doting on Finley. haha!)
DeleteToo cute! What a great way to celebrate... although I laugh at the thought of all those tiny kids remembering if it's their turn to weave up or under another ribbon! Sounds like a tangled mess!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to remember this for another year!
The big kids practiced during school, so they (mostly) had it down. The littles ones, well.... :)
DeleteOh my GOODNESS morgan, this looks like just about the sweetest thing ever. ANd the photos are stunning. What light. What lightness!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my sweet friend!
DeleteWaldorf traditions are so special. There is something beautiful about taking time to celebrate and embrace the simple things. As for the boy's school, it looks like Finley is more excited than Silas about possibly going there in the future! Love Silas' expression in the fourth picture. (kinda reminds me of your husband's non-smile, smile)
ReplyDeleteAs for Silas' expression looking like Eric's, that totally cracks me up because it's so true!
Deletewe had may day at my elementary school (k-8). may pole and all. It was really fun :)
ReplyDeletewhat a fun way to celebrate with your kids - i love that their school did this! {and how great does that dress look all wrapped up!} and loving finley's dress - so sweet!
