Coat- Vintage, Gifted, Bow- Adornme Girl
My friend scored this sweet little vintage coat a thrift store last year. She got it for an amazing price (I think $4) and I might have been a little jealous. I also might have frequented that particular thrift store a little too often hoping for my own great find. That never happened. When her daughter outgrew the coat and she gave it to me for Finley I could not have been more ecstatic.
A coat is a statement piece. I read in a fashion magazine once that some people will only see you in your coat in the Winter, so it better be pretty amazing. I haven't lived by this rule, but I plan to as soon as I can afford the coats that I am drooling over.
This particular coat is all kinds of perfection. I love the color, the brass buttons, the velvet collar, the length, and, of course, the fact that it's vintage. What do you think makes the perfect coat?
Thank you so much for linking up and joining in! I am still at the mercy of my old computer that can barely load new pictures and can't edit them. Show off your amazing photography for me!

I love a good coat and that one is fabulous!
ReplyDeletei think fit and color are what make a coat. and that little green coat definitely has both!
ReplyDeleteI'd never know you couldn't edit your photos- they're both gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd I ADORE her coat- I'd have been jealous of the find, too! I splurged this year and bought 2 new coats on clearance at Anthro- they're definitely statement pieces- ruffly and wonderful! And I live in FL where I rarely get to wear them- bummer!!
oh that coat!! an morgan...your pictures are beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat coat is SOOO cute! I just ordered one a lot like it, same color and everything from Old Navy. I'm excited for Sailor to wear it. Finley looks so cute as always! I love the bow! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat coat is a statement piece! Love it! Great score and it looks so cute on her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great coat. Love everything about it even the little one wearing it! Does it have a velvet/corduroy collar? That green color too... I have a few coats from post Babis days that I still wear. Tailored coats and a great pair of gloves or scarf for sure make a statement!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect statement piece! If only we found it in our size too. I agree that the perfect coat is out there waiting...I just need to have the cash flow (not likely this year). But a statement coat makes each day a bit more special.
ReplyDeleteahh - that coat is perfect!! what a great gift to receive! i recently found a couple great vintage coats that Levi will be able to fit into soon - and i can't wait. love, love little kids vintage coats.
ReplyDeleteand i love Finley's expression in that top photo!
Morgan, that is a BEAUTIFUL coat. Holy cow. I was looking at a coat similar to that one for Stella, but it was like well over 100 big ones, and I couldn't justify it, especially since her coat from last year still fits my little shrimp.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find. And what a great friend!
Oh, she is adorable!! I want that coat in my size :) I totally get the whole coat thing...I have a bit of an obsession with them! I bought a pattern to make my own - we'll see!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that coat is beautiful. Gorgeous photos :)
