I Love Pleats!

I love (like, LOOOOVE) this Lulu's skirt. I'm definitely going to be wearing it a lot into the Fall and Winter. I used to have two distinct wardrobes- hot weather and cold weather and I would put one away as the seasons changed and pull the other out. I'm so glad I've now discovered the fine art of remixing clothing. Do you have two separate wardrobes or do you make things work throughout the year? What are some items that you'll be transitioning into the cool weather?

Also, isn't this the best retro building ever? When Eric and I were out of town for our anniversary we kept noticing all of the old-school retro building signs and commenting on how cool they were. Then, when we got back in town, we noticed that we have a lot of them around here, too. It's funny how many things you don't notice when you live in the same town your entire life (give or take six months)- this building being one of them.

Don't forget to enter to win the $40 Lulus.com shopping spree going on right now!

I'm linking up at The Pleated Poppy.

  2. love the colour of that skirt! i've never put my clothes away for winter/summer, i pretty much just add a sweater over a summer dress, etc. more variety that way!

And the retro look of that building is awesome... makes me wonder if there are any hidden treasures around here that I'm missing... ;)

  4. i definitely have a few items that are seasonal, but for the most part, 90% of my wardrobe can be mixed and matched all year.

  6. You look gorgeous. Wow.

I do trade out my clothes. I find that I just get tired of them, so sometimes it's fun to pull out the winter/summer clothes because it's like Christmas morning. Especially some of the thrifted stuff, my little treasures that I had forgotten about.

  8. You look great! That skirt looks amazing on you! I trade my wardrobe but only because the winters get so unbelievably cold, it would be hard to have transition pieces.

I used to do the separate wardrobe thing too but I'm doing more mixing as well. Although the really warm sweaters still go away in summer. :)

  12. You look amazing! Love that skirt. I try to make things work throughout the year to help the bank account. Throwing tights under a sun dress or a turtle neck under a tunic.

And although I have two pretty distinct summer/winter wardrobes - some stuff definitely crosses over. This skirt would!

  17. You look adorable in in everything! I think I try to take my favorite pieces and make them work, no matter what the season, but there are certainly some summer-only things and winter-only things that I've got too. At Lulus.com, I'm loving the Theme Executive Decision Taupe Dress. I don't know if I could pull off the color with my skin tone, but I think it looks so cute!
