Today we went into a certain store that we don't usually go into. (There's a reason for that. It's not my favorite.) Our mission was to get a little kiddie pool for the backyard. The gym that's around the corner from our house has several big pools that we like to swim in, but I need Eric there to help me, so I wanted a pool that the kids could cool off in at home.
Remind me to never say, "you have yours hands full," because that phrase is overused. I think I've heard it about a million times (give or take a few). I know most people are just trying to be nice and make conversation (and they are right. I do have my hands full), but I like the, "your kids are so well-behaved!" comments even more. (As for the, "you look way too young to have four kids," I'm not sure if those are good or bad.)
One lady said to me, as I was trying to stuff all four kids and one of those stiff-sided kiddie pools into my van, "Getting the yearly pool. It must be summer." Exactly!

"you have your hands full" ugh. I get that too, but I just have the 2 boys. for whatever reason, when someone can't think of what to say, they say that! happy summer Mama!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are all so cute, even if they're not all behaving like little angels, you should be proud because they're beautiful and they're yours, and they're kids, they're not going to be perfect! If someone says you have your hands full, just offer to have that person watch all your kids for the weekend! haha! :-)
ReplyDeletethey are going to have so much fun! wish we had a yard so Lily could have a kiddie pool too but the baby tub on the balcony will do for now. ;)
ReplyDeleteI kinda like it when people tell me I have my hands full. It makes me think they can sympathize and not to mention-I DO have my hands full. LOL.
ReplyDeleteKiddie pools are the best, I wish WA would get some sun so I could go buy one too!
ReplyDeleteI always answer the "hands full" comment with "In the BEST way!"
ReplyDeleteThe other day I was a little nonplussed when a gentleman stopped me with that comment and I had ONLY 1 baby on my arm!
Perspective.
Ha, oh do I know. How fun. I love the good ones. And as for the hands full comment, I learned to say "better full than empty!" :)
ReplyDeleteSteph
oh, yes. the full hands comment. ALL THE TIME. and i agree, i realize most of them are just making conversation, but it can get crazy annoying. i usually say in my cheeriest voice, 'full hand, full heart, right?!" =)
ReplyDeleteYAY FOR SUMMER!
looks glorious...I am missing summer after having the last few days of our holiday in California and enjoying some beautiful weather (after all the snow we experienced in the mountains on June 1..eek!)
ReplyDeleteas for 'you've got your hands full'..don't get me started...I had a bit to say about that one on my blog back in April!
Looking forward to getting back into some small styling this week :)
