Decorating the Playroom

My big project for the next couple weeks is to make our playroom more warm and inviting. Right now we do all of our school work at the kitchen table, but next year I want to turn our playroom into an all purpose room for school, playing, crafts, and sewing. Right now it reminds me a bit of a concrete cell. It's not that bad, there's no concrete, but it is pretty lifeless. I want to turn the cell into something that's comfortable and cozy for snuggling up to read and for the little ones to spend time in while we do school work. I can't wait to show you the finished product!

Here's what it looks like right now: (Sorry for the dark pictures. Today is rainy and overcast.)

  4. Love the chevron rug and the blue chair! I think a rug would help warm up that room a lot, tiled floors are cold.

  7. There's nothing more fun than fixing up an eyesore room...(doing it right now). Love that UO rug...wanted it for the nursery, but they're backordered. Stupid.

  10. I'm so excited to see your creative flair on a big scale! Your inspiration pictures are all very cohesive and expressive, your style is so beautiful I can tell it truly reflects you. Half the battle of design is focus, and staying true to yourself. My favorite book to read on design is "What color is your slip cover" by Denny Daikeler. I read it over and over! I highly recommend it.
