Nap Time

Silas and "Blue B"
Silas and "Blue B"

I've noticed a new trend in blogland. Instead of posting pictures of a neat, clean, and perfectly staged house it's posting pictures of a messy, lived in, and well-loved room. It's strangely comforting to me because, lets face it, most people will little ones (and without, right?) have imperfect homes.

Today Eric told me that our two (almost three) year old is ready for a big boy bed. I can't believe that next month he'll be three and Samuel will be five. Crazy craziness. Today he is taking his nap on the floor with lots of blankets and pillows. It looks like a pretty fun slumber party setup to me.

Having four kids close close in age it seems like as soon as one kid moves out of a stage the next one moves right into it. As Judah moves into more of the big boy learning and helping and doing things on his own Samuel is moving into reading and helping more.

Samuel is moving out of some of the preschool age defiance and Silas is moving right into it (along with lots of good things like having a strong will, strong personality, and a mind of his own).

Silas is moving out of getting into every drawer and cabinet and climbing and just making lots of curious mischief and exploring everything and Finley is moving right into it. They keep me on my toes. No wonder I'm tired.

I don't really have a favorite age. Each stage has different challenges, but so many more joys that go along with it.
