Simple Felt Flower Tutorial

felt flower diy

Finley won't keep headbands on anymore. It makes me so sad. As soon as I put it on, no matter how much I try to distract her, she yanks it right off. I've had slightly better luck with clips, so I need to build up my stash.

These felt flowers are super easy and quick to whip up. Just my kind of project. I'm going to post all of the pictures small, so they load faster, but click if you want to see them bigger.

What you'll need:
-Scissors
-Glue gun
-Felt
-Water soluble/fabric pen
-Sierra Nevada glass (just kidding! It was actually the only one that was the right size, but it looks like a nice little ad for them.)

1. Trace circle on felt. The glass that I used was about 1.5" across.

2. You can either draw out a spiral or just wing it- I tried both and they ended up looking the same- and cut.

3. Roll the fabric, starting from the middle, and glue as you go. I tried using both felt and knit. The knit is on the left.

4. Glue to a hair clip, head band, a few together to make a brooch, or where ever else you want. The end.

I, also, tried made some flowers by cutting one long, thin strip of felt. These made a flat flower instead of one that was lower in the center and rose up, but I think I like the long strip flowers better.

Then, put it on your baby's head.

Or, if your baby won't cooperate, put it on your two year old BOY's head. When he refuses, bribe him with chocolate chips.
