We are planning a trip to Disneyland (in California) next month. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've been looking forward to this since Judah was just a little baby. I know the boys will loooove it. I've already asked on facebook and gotten lots of great tips, but I must ask here, too. Do you have any tips for me?
Where should we stay?
Do you know of any packages?
Tips for going with small kids?
Best rides?
Best shows?
Etc, etc, etc?
Feel free to leave tips, tricks, favorites, and links.
Thank you!!

I can't speak from experience (yet!), but I know the park stays open pretty late, so parents with young ones can go back to the hotel, take long naps and go back for more in the evening. SO FUN!!
ReplyDeleteBring Grandparents!! It is so helpful when you have more than two kids to have the extra help. Plus in the evenings it gives parents the chance to go back minus the kiddos.
ReplyDeleteWe went to Disneyland in 08. It was really fun. It was worth it to use the time reserve options for rides, you can bypass the line and plan the day better.
ReplyDeleteAlso if you get a chance go to Lego Land! it was so fun and both my kids, aged ten and three at the time LOVED it! We stayed at a private residence in Anaheim, we were ten minutes from Disneyland.
Have fun!
Don't go to Disneyland! It is scary and clowns are everywhere. The rides always break down and they never fix them because they want to save money. Hahahah juuussstt kidding. Disneyland is SO MUCH FUN. Be sure to go on the Peter Pan ride, it's a treat. :)

We have annual passes and D-land is practically our 2nd home! Take FULL advantage of the 'fast passes' for the long rides and get your first as soon as you walk in the park. The big rides rack in late times if you wait too long: Indiana, Space mountain, and b/c of The Nightmare before Christmas theme-the Haunted Mansion too. Keep in mind (kinda a not-mentioned secret) that even though there is a time on your fast pass ticket, you CAN go back anytime after your time listed. If it says 11:35-12:35...you can go at say 2...as long as its after 11:35. There are also "parent passes" for any ride with a height restriction. You may have to wait in line with your family, but after they are done you and 1 more kiddo can go through the fast pass line rather than waiting forever. We have a 8month old and a really short 5 year old...and use this strategy all the time. And if you need to, there is a great 'baby center' at the end of Main street near the photo shop where you can nurse in peace and change diapers and if needed there are even lil' kiddo pottys. Remember to have fun, and try not to take it all in, in 1 day. Cal Adventure is much more laid back and often not nearly as crowded-the Aladin show is a MUST! You won't be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteYour boys will be so thankful! I didn't get to go until I was 17 :(
