Loving the City

love chico

Yesterday my family participated in our first "Love Chico." I'm not sure how many there have been....six? But, it's the first time we've been a part of it.

27 churches all cancel their Sunday services and instead do things to love and bless the city. Things like pulling weeds in the park, cleaning up and painting playgrounds at local schools, making ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness, visiting rest homes, and anything else you can imagine.

I, actually, stayed home while Finley napped, but Eric and the boys went down to the park and picked up trash.

After all the service projects were done everyone who participated met in the plaza in the middle of the city to worship together. It was so awesome!

My friend from high school, Allison, with Finley.

It was hard to show how many people were there. So many! There were people all around me and behind me and to the sides, also.

Afterwards we stopped at "the hands" for a little game of tag.

  1. Your kids are so cute! I am glad you guys had a great time, we wanted to come downtown but Oliver was sleeping during that time and if I have learned one thing it is not to wake a sleeping baby ;)
