The Case of the Missing Phone

Last Thursday I picked up Judah from school and on the way home we stopped at the grocery store. Instead of bringing in my whole bag, I just grabbed my wallet, phone, and keys.

Not until I got home did I realize that I didn't have my phone. I called Raley's and they said it wasn't there.

The next morning I called Raley's again and it still wasn't there. A few hours later I got a call saying that they had found my phone. I was so relieved and, not having anyone but the kids to tell, I wrote on facebook, "Raley's called and they found my phone." (Not smart.)

I didn't want to take all four kids inside the store just to get my phone, so I asked Eric if he would pick it up for me after work. When he got home I asked him if he had picked up my phone. "No, they said you had already picked it up."

Obviously, I hadn't. So, I drove across town to see what was up.

When I got there I told the manager that I came to pick up my phone. They had told me it was in the safe, so I had him look there.

The nearest cashier said, "A man came in about in hour ago saying he was your husband and he picked it up."

Yes, that was my husband, no, he didn't pick it up.

Then another one said, "No, a lady was in here this morning and she picked it up."

And, another, "Yeah, she said it was hers. It was an older lady."

"Maybe a grandma."

"Yeah, she picked it up."

So weird! I was causing quite the ruckus with all of the Raley's employees in the hunt for my phone.

Sadly, it was never found. I'm glad we had insurance on it.

My new arrived today. Thank goodness.
