See this vintage apron? I got it at an estate sale on Saturday. I'm pretty sure that wearing an apron improves my cooking. A lot.
So, last night I put on my apron and got a wild hair up my bum (ok, I don't really say that, but I've read several different versions of this phrase and it REALLY cracks me up) to do some cooking.

I've been wanting to make the Pioneer Woman's mozzarella sticks for awhile and so we had them as an appetizer. They are delicious! Only Eric and I liked them, so we have lots left over. I could have eaten all of the leftovers for lunch today, but I restrained myself and ate a few with some chicken and fresh tomato slices.

For dinner I tried to use up lots of produce from our garden and the Farmer's Market. Although we've gotten lots of meat from the Farmer's Market, this roasted chicken is an organic one from Costco. I stuffed it with a lemon and garlic and onion from the Farmer's Market. All of the herbs are from my garden.
The potatoes were, also, from the Farmer's Market and cooked with the leftover onions, garlic, and herbs.
Salad with more Farmer's Market veggies, of course, and Annie's Naturals dressing. Yum!

Finley enjoyed her dinner, too. I must say, I'm kind of proud of it. I made baby food for the all the boys, but this zucchini was grown, picked, steamed, and blended by me. And, she even likes it.

I love how truly homemade your baby food is! I've never bought a jar of baby food before, as I've always made my own, but this time around I'm looking forward to using the magic bullet my friends got me to make baby food!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute apron! I always get a little confidence boost when I wear one. I don't know what it is (-: Also, that food looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! I totally agree that a fun apron makes a person a better cook :)
