Cooking with the Kiddos

Yesterday was a quiet day at home. I'm really starting to enjoy the days that we stay home and relax. I'm thinking this year I will schedule more of those days.

These are the days when I get to do the things with the boys that I want to do more often- play games, read lots of books, crafts, and now cooking. We had so much fun making pita pizzas together and they both ate their entire pizza. There's nothing like making a meal with your own two hands.

We started with whole wheat pitas from Trader Joe's.

Then, spooned on tomato sauce and smeared it around.

Cheddar cheese was added next (Because it's what we always have. We buy it in bulk at Costco. Sometime we might try mozarella.)

Then, the toppings. Judah put mushrooms and olives on his. Samuel olives and broccoli. I ate all three.

Then we put them in the oven at 350 degrees until the cheese was melting and bubbly. So easy. So fun. Perfect for toddlers/preschoolers.

We will definitely be doing this again!

(Please excuse the funny expression on Judah's face and Samuel not even looking at the camera. They didn't want to take a picture. They wanted to eat. This is the best we could do.)
