Tonight as we were eating dessert (peaches & vanilla ice cream. Side note here: we've been eating a lot of dessert. Judah asks after every meal, including breakfast, if he can have a treat. I, usually, limit him to one per day. I ate a lot of sweets when I was pregnant with the boys. Not surprised they love them as much as I do...maybe more).
Anyway, we were eating dessert. Eric was telling me about how he was driving in a little town to meet with a new pool customer. His gps took him on some back roads through the orchards and, all the sudden, he came upon not one, but two giant Muslim temples. In the middle of the orchard. He was surprised to find them in such a random place, so he took pictures with his blackberry (not just any cell phone...a new blackberry!).
He showed me the picture and Judah wanted to see it too. I showed him and, of course, Samuel wanted to see it. When I showed Samuel he looked at it and said,
"What the heck?"
Too funny!

Fashion Mama
As you all know, this little blog of mine really has no theme. Three and a half years ago I started it to show pictures of Judah to my family and let them know what he was up to that day. It evolved into my thoughts on random subjects. I guess you could call it your typical mommy blog. As I continue to read blogs I daily find ones that I love. For awhile I loved reading food blogs, hence my food post. I've recently (and for the very first time, I think) posted about politics.
Most recently my favorite blogs are fashion blogs. The best ones are where cute girls dress up in fashionable clothes and take pictures of themselves everyday. I love seeing the outfits they put together and am amazed that they hardly ever wear the same thing twice. When they do, it's used with different pieces and made into a completely different outfit.
Anyway, I thought I'd try my hand at the whole fashion blog thing. And, who knows, maybe I'll do it more often. I LOVE clothes and shopping, so maybe this will encourage me to put more thought into my outfits. I've noticed that accessories are the key to looking fashionable and really are important. Another thing I've noticed it that none of these fashion bloggers are moms. Hmmm... Is it possible to be fashionable and a mom and on a budget? I say, heck yeah!

The second part is to tell you where I got everything. Fun fun!
Forever 21 tank, Ella J blouse (which, by the way, is this adorable little boutique in Danville. On the way home from my sis in laws wedding we put coffee shop into our gps. Ella J just happened to be right next door to Starbucks), Old Navy shorts, Anne Michelle peep toe heels

Budding Artists
Get these boys a canvas!
I love having an (almost) 4 year old and 2 year old. Judah and Samuel play so well together and entertain each other 95% of the time. While they're playing pirates, building castles, watching a movie, or playing on the computer I'm able to feed Silas, do the dishes, and laundry and sit down and rest (every so often).
Although, there are those times that I lay Silas down and come out to a special surprise. Sometimes I rush out to one boy screaming with bite marks on his arm and the other looking sheepish. Other times I come out to their artwork. There's been a lot of artwork lately. It's probably because Eric and I don't hide the pens and crayons well enough (we've, hopefully, taken care of that). Thank goodness most of it scrubs off!
Permanent marker on Kung fu Panda. Eric had already scrubbed if off the portable dvd player. (Not pictured- permanent marker on the frisbee and other miscellaneous toys in Judah's room)

Judah's wall and bookshelf

Hallway

Couch

My bedroom

I'm never quite sure who the actual artist is on each project, as the story always changes. My guess is that they're usually a joint effort. I'm sure they'll continue to work with such teamwork for the rest of their lives!
Thank you for those of you who replied to my Prop 8 post. I'd love to hear more, if you haven't commented yet (or even if you have)!

The Roll in Pictures
I'm definitely playing catch-up here. I have so many pictures to post, but I'll space them out, so as not to overwhelm you. I'm so glad I caught Silas' first tummy to back roll on camera, because I missed the first back to tummy!
Ready to roll

Tummy

to side (rolling must have made him dizzy- note the spit up)

to back!

And, the finger suck

I love that Silas is sucking his two middle fingers. Judah did this, too. He is using his pacifier less and less (so much for paci training) and sucking his fingers more. Judah weaned himself from his fingers and Samuel from his paci both that 6 months. We'll see what Silas does. But, I really do love him sucking his fingers. It's nice that he's able to soothe himself and it's so darn cute!

Quick Catch Up
-Silas had his 4 month appointment the day after he turned 4 months old. I need to post the actual stats later, but I do remember he was in the 90th percentile for height and weight. I'm pretty sure his weight was 16lbs, 14oz. My big, cute, roly, poly boy!
-Speaking of roly, poly...he's definitely rolling! Remember how he rolled from back to tummy the day before he was 4 months? He rolled from tummy to back 5 days later. I'm a proud mom!
-I'm doing homeschool preschool with Judah and Samuel. We started about a month ago. They like it a lot, but it's not exactly the most organized thing. Oh well. We'll figure that out next year when we officially start.
-Like my previous post said, it's been a really, really, really hard past month and a half. But, not a bad hard. Well, at least not now on the way out. It's been so good and God has done so much in me. He's given me a deeper level of healing and more revelation of His father love.
-Eric has 100 pools! Woohoo! We'll be in two local Home & Garden Shows. One this month and one next month. So, if you're in town check it out.
-That's all I can think of right now. I have lots of cute pictures to post. Here's one of my BIG boy. I can't believe he'll be 4 next month. We're already starting to plan his birthday party. Until this year he didn't really care much about what he did as long as there was cake, presents, and friends. It's fun that he's forming his own opinions and can tell me what he wants. I'm excited! (And, he is too!)

Fire
This has been a season of fire. This last couple months have been the hardest since Eric and I were separated. We're having to deal with really hard circumstances (thankfully this time it's not in our marriage), which is stirring up things from my past.
It is hard!!
I know when God takes us through the fire it is good. He is burning up everything that is not Him. All sin, all hurt, all rejection. It's not fun, but it's worth it. So that I can be more like Him.

Judah says
I use this umbrella (the stool to his drum set) when I go to work. I'm going to work. Samuel stays home and takes care of our Baby Tiny.
Samuel! I'm going to work. You stay home and take care of our Baby Tiny.
