love & hate

love is blonde style!

Love: My new Beco Butterfly! I LOVE this thing and Silas loves it, too. It's stylish and, still, extremely functional. He falls asleep in it right away and is happy until his next feeding.

Hate: This digusting smoke! Little boys like to play out side, but with all of Northern California a big, smoky mess it's not advised. Not good to be breathing in ash, you know? Also, it's so sad and horrible that so many people have lost their homes!

Love: Working out at the gym again. It's so nice to drop off my 3 little boys and have some time to myself, all while being able to watch them over the monitors.

Hate: When, two minutes after starting my workout, I get called to come pick up the boys because Silas is crying. Oh well, it's not perfect everytime, right?

Love: Cloth diapering. It's easy, great for their skin, good for the earth, and oh so adorable.

Hate: Taking antibiotics for my double ear infection and pink eye. Why is it so easy to remember to give medicine to the boys, but so hard to remember to take it for myself? And, the pink eye is gone, anyway. That's all I really care about. (It looks digusting AND I wasn't able to wear eye makeup!)

More Love:
-Blog contests (see previous post)
-My father in law's birthday party is tonight. Fun! (Happy *early* birthday, Robb!)
-I got to sleep in this morning, while Eric took care of all three boys
-We took a quick (because of the smoke) trip to Farmer's Market this morning and got strawberries, blackberries, squash, and potatoes

What are you loving and hating?

Two Months!

I can't believe my baby boy is already two months old (as of yesterday, the 25th). Time is definitely flying by! We went to his two month appointment on Tuesday (the 24th). He was 14 lbs, 8 oz (90th percentile) and 24 inches (95th).

Paci baby

Silas gets fussy in the evenings, usually between 8 and 9pm. I asked the ped if it could be from a dairy intolerance (after doing way too much online research). He said that due to his weight gain and how healthy he is, it's highly unlikely (thank goodness! I love my decaf iced mochas!) and it is probably due to overstimulation and being tired at the end of the day. Right now Silas is in "paci training," because it really is nice to be able to give him a pacifier as one way to calm him. He loves swaddling, but it's not always easy in the heat or when we're out and about. Sometimes he'll take it, sometimes he won't, but mostly I have to hold it in his mouth. I try both the Soothies and the Nuk, but I just ordered the Natursutten pacis. They are both bpa free AND easy to clean!

bath- 1.5 months
He loves the big bath tub, but does not like the baby bath

Mama and my big boys

My big boys are very much into pirates. They own the Veggietales 'Pirates Who Don't Do Anything' music video. They love to sing the song and it's hilarious to hear the words come out of their mouths, "We are the pirates who don't do anything, we just stay home and lie (the say fly) around, and if you ask us to do anything, we'll just tell you we don't do anything." They have yet to see the movie, it's not on video yet. They both have pirate shirts (Silas has a matching pirate onsie) and pirate "featherswords", like Captain Feathersword the friendly pirate, from The Wiggles. Judah is holding his sword in the picture.

So Excited!

I'm so glad I finally figured out how to upload pictures from my digital camera. It wasn't working because it wasn't in the upload (or view) mode on the camera. Before I just had it there by accident and that's what it worked. Be prepared for lots more pictures in the future. Yay!

I have lots of baby sleeping pics. I'm like my mom...love those sleeping babies! They look so cute!

Happy Father's Day!

To my father-in-law: Who is the father to my amazing husband. Who taught him hard work and how to support and love his family. Who always encourages him in his business and supports our family in everything we do (along with my mother-in-law). And, Grandpa of my 3 boys. Who nurtures them and loves them and changes all the poopy diapers when they're at his house (so I hear).

To my dad: Who always made sure all my needs were met, who paid for my schooling, and my discipleship training school to Australia. Who made sure he had a good talk with my husband before he married me. (haha) Grandpappy to my 3 boys. Who is always thinking of them and spoiling them with fun finds. (A bike trailer, kids picnic table, bike, etc...)

To my husband: The best Papa in the world! Who loves our boys unconditionally. Who is always playing with them, getting them another drink of water, taking them to work with him, and saying their prayers at the end of the day. Who makes it possible for me to stay home with them because of ALL of his hard work. Who believes the best for us and trusts God in everything. Who sets an example to our boys and gives them vision for the men that they will one day become.

I love you!

5 Years

On Saturday, June 7th, Eric and I celebrated* our 5th anniversary.

At church on Sunday Eric shared about our anniversary and why it was so significant. 5 years ago we had gotten married. It was a gorgeous day. The week before had been one 100 degrees, but that day is was only in the 80s. The presence of God was there at our wedding and we had high expectations for marriage. We were madly in love and that's all that really matters, right?

Well, not so much. "All we need is love?" No! We had love, but unfortunately, 7 months later we were separated. We had gone to 4 different (Christian) counselors. Spent A LOT of money, that we surely didn't have. Worked on communication. Talked to our pastor. And, all they could tell us is....they thought we should get separated. And, not just separated, but separate for 7 months. Since that's how long we had been married that's how long it would take to fix, if things even were fixable.

A lot of the problems in our marriage stemmed from the rejection that was in my heart. I had a wound of rejection and perceived (and received) rejection. Every time I felt rejected by Eric I would get angry, which would cause him to reject me even more, and this cycle continued. I'm thankful to God for healing that rejection.I allowed God to love me as a father who loved me and accepted me and protects my heart. Our marriage has been completely restored. Things have never gone back to the way they were, four and a half years later. Restoration means to bring things into order. Our marriage was in chaos, but God brought it back into order.

Bathroom Talk

As Eric was getting out of the shower last night Judah was in the bathroom waiting for him. While he dried off they had the funniest conversation!

Judah: Your penis is still wet. You need to dry it off.
Eric: (Silence)
Judah: You have balls. I don't have balls.
Eric: Yes you do, they're just small.

*Also, we FINALLY finished our birth announcements! I'd love to send all of my bloggy friends (and, of course, real life friends and family) one, so make it easy on me and email me your address to morganf7 (at) yahoo (dot) com. I promise I'll send them out this time! We're notorious for making birth announcements/Christmas cards/etc... then never actually sending them. I will this time, though!
