Day 20: Endurance

Today I decided to try out the turbo kickboxing class. I've gone to several of the classes and am usually perfectly sore afterwards. Sore enough to feel it, but not so sore that it's very uncomfortable. Yesterday was an exception. At the Absolution class the teacher told us to get in touch with our "inner pooch." I wasn't sore at all afterwards and I never became one with my "pooch." (Your ab muscles below your belly button, apparently.)

All of the classes that I've done were 25 minutes and 25 minutes was just the right amount of time. Today, though, I decided to do the turbo kickboxing even though it was an hour. Well, I had to leave after a half hour.

Seriously, I was dying.

It felt like running sprints in basketball. Run in place. Run to the side. Touch the ground. Punch up while jumping. Jumping jacks.

My face was red. My shoulders were red. And, I was sweating. (This is unusual for me during working out. Think it's time for me to push myself a little harder?)

Needless to say, I'll be back on Tuesday evening to work on my endurance. Stay tuned.

  1. Definitely go back. I don't consider it a good workout (or worth my hour investment) unless I am completely dripping in sweat, red in the face, with quivering muscles that are very sore the next day. (Of course, not like dangerously sore, but you know what I mean).

  3. Kickbox is so much fun! It's one of my favorite classes and works your whole darn body! So, good for you for trying it and way to go for deciding to head back next week. You'll do great!

  4. Keep on keepin' on, girl!
I love kick boxing. I am not up to a lot of speed yet, but I do a DVD at home called Turbo Jam. I got up to the fifth level, then had an injury and am starting over again.
I was so jazzed after the first effort, even though it was pitiful, because I remember how far I got and how good it felt. And I am quite heavy! You can do this! And enjoy it!
