Day 2: Baby's First Food - Rice Cereal

Here are a few more cute pictures from Halloween: (I'll be posting my opinions on celebrating Halloween vs. not celebrating soon!)

Tonight we fed Silas rice cereal for the first time. I, obviously, wasn't in any hurry to start him on solid foods. (Although, our pediatrician did suggest starting Silas at 6 months, as opposed to 4 months, like he told me with the other boys. I'm glad that he's slowly, but surely catching up to the AAP recommendations).

Anyway, I wasn't in any hurry. As thankful as I am that Silas is a perfect, healthy baby (like his brothers) I'm a little sad that he's growing up so fast. These last 6 months have flew by and I really hope the next 6 months go a lot slower. As my third baby I think I'm able to appreciate and enjoy him more than just trying to figure everything out. I've learned to relish each little moment and each little accomplishment.

Getting ready to his cereal. "I'd rather eat the bib!"
Here it comes
Notice my cute $4 ring from Lulu's.

"Maybe not the bib. Maybe I'll just stick to my fingers."
I think I'll stick to my fingers

"I'm not too sure about this stuff. Maybe it's ok."
Hmmm, I don't know about this

He, actually, ended up really liking it. I was surprised how well he did and how much he slurped it down. Probably because it was mostly breastmilk, but he ate the whole thing. We'll do rice cereal for a few more days, then try the homemade pears or butternut squash I made the other day. ,

I am enjoying reading your daily happenings! Keep em coming and I love your pictures too!

  3. Every milestone seems to be bitter sweet. So excited to see them accomplish the next step and so sad that they are growing up and not little babies anymore.
