If you haven't seen the movie Fireproof, basically, it's about a couple whose marriage is on the verge of divorce. His dad gives him a book of dares that he's supposed to do everyday for 40 days. The Love Dare book is a book of all the dares that he did in the movie.
The first day was to say nothing negative. The second day was to say nothing negative and do an unexpected gesture of kindness. And the third day, the day that I'm on, is to buy a gift that shows you're thinking of them.
This is the gift I got Eric:
A BKE shirt from Buckle

Eric is hard to shop for sometimes, so I was kind of nervous about what to get him. I wanted to get him something he'd really like. I was trying to decide between a shirt and cd and he really likes the shirt, so I'm glad I got it! Today's dare was really fun for me. A lot of times I don't buy Eric gifts for no reason because I'm afraid he won't like what I get him. But, I should just do it because he probably will.
And, a gift for me! :)

I definitely recommend the Love Dare book (and the movie Fireproof) for anyone struggling in their marriage or even for someone in a great marriage. It's been a lot of fun so far (although, not always easy!) and we still have 37 days left. Feel free to email me or leave a comment if you want to know more or have any questions.

Hi, tell me more about this book, I want to get it! My marriage is good...but I feel like we take eachother for granted. We could use a little help.
ReplyDeletesounds great. I'd be interested to hear more of the dares.
ReplyDeletedid you tell your husband that you're doing the love dare or are you just doing it on your own? or are you both doing it together?
ReplyDeletesounds like a really cool book. i'm not married, but it definitely sounds like something i would want to do- down the road when i actually am married!
