Judah was born in October 2004. After finally being able to fit into my pre-preg clothes (nine months later!) I bought two tank tops and some jeans. Then, I found out I was pregnant again! Samuel was born in April of 07 and I'm back into the place of fitting into my pre-preg clothes.
Now, here's my dilemma: What the HECK do moms wear? Most of my old clothes fit, but I would not wear them. I want to look cute and trendy without looking too young. It seems like most clothes are for high school aged kids or for middle-aged moms. What does a 24 year old wife and stay at home mom to two boys wear? WHAT?!?! Help would be much appreciated! (Like, can moms wear bikinis?)
Ok, here are some pictures I took with my treo. Fun fun!
PS There's not really much else to say about the Home & Garden Show. Seriously, I think my last post pretty much covered it.
Eric at our booth

I LOVE the fountain in our new plaza. Eric and I were at the planning meeting where it was proposed and all I really wanted was that fountain. (The plaza has been highly criticized for having too much concrete, but personally, I really like it). I can't wait to take the boys this summer!!

I've been exhausted with Judah not taking a nap. He's in a toddler bed and can get in and out himself and it's hard to keep him in there. So, no nap yesterday until we walked around downtown in the stroller. Since it was so late he had a HARD time going to sleep last night. We ARE taking a nap today, I'll do whatever it takes!

Then they both fell asleep. How cute is that?

Today at my networking meeting I won another prize. Yay! They were giving away a free bike, which I didn't win, but I did win a coffee mug with chocolates inside of it. The window cleaner I'll probably never use, but this I most definitely will!

First of all, YES, moms can and do wear bikinis! I'm at the beach right now, and EVERY one with a halfway decent body has on a bikini, and many that don't are still wearing them.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, there is not uniform for a mom. You wear whatever you're comfortable with. Wear clothes that make you feel good about yourself. Moms can still wear tank tops and shorts and stuff like that. Maybe try a tank top and a pair of bermuda shorts. You can look cute without looking like a hoochie.
morgan you always look so cute and hip in your outfits! don't worry about it. just be comfortable and confident. and when all else fails, go for the jeans and t-shirt and flip flops. (that seems to be my staple) and the occassional bling here and there. i go with the classics and then every season buy a few items that are "trendy" (whatever THAT means!) to mix it up. and you totally are wearing a bikini this summer. you gotta show off that hot mama bod! loud and proud baby! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the two of them asleep in the stroller together! It's so cute how they are both turned the same way.
ReplyDeleteIn summer weather, I love wearing skirts (either knee-length or calf-length; linen skirts are a great fabric for summer), light t-shirts or tank tops (sometimes I layer the tank tops) and flip flops. I like wearing skirts instead of shorts or jeans because it feels more feminine and pretty and like I actually made an effort at getting dressed. In cooler weather, however, I'm more likely to be wearing yoga pants or jeans.
of course moms can wear bikinis! i'm not a mom yet, but i would wear one if i could. i like capris and cute skirts with heeled sandals. i live in capris in the summer.
ReplyDeleteWhen was Samuel born
ReplyDeleteU wrote April of 07????
cool fountain. There was one of them near where I lived In Auckland and it was very popular
"coffee mug with chocolates inside" yum!!
Oh and Im about 10 years older than u and I wear jeans and tshirts mainly they are comfy and I have a friend whose about my age with a daughter Daniels age and she wears a bikini :)
ReplyDeleteI like to get my shirts from this site:

because I don't want to spend a lot of time getting dressed but I do like to look polished. (They have lots of good sales.) Pair them with good fitting jeans or curve-hugging yoga pants and a pair of flats or flip flops (in summer) and sneakers (in winter) and that's pretty much the mom-in-her-20s standard outfit in my group.
Like the Midwest Texan, I like to wear skirts (knee-length) in the summer, because I feel so wonderfully feminine in them.
I have a hard time finding jeans that I like, because I'm short, but thin, so the petites are always FRUMPY and the juniors are too long and too trendy.
Personally, I'm going for the tankini now due to the strange crepe-paper texture of my stomach.
