So, we had an A-Mazing Valentine's Day! After my mom got off of work we dropped the boys off at her house and headed to Red Tavern. They said we needed to wait in the bar for 20 minutes and then they would know if we could get a table or not. Eric and I don't drink, so it was pretty funny sitting at the bar. I had a sparkling cider and he had rootbeer. Tasty! I had already given him his gift at home, but he gave me a VERY romantic card. I'll have to scan a picture. Eric despises cards because he thinks it's ridiculous to pay $3-4 for one card, so it really meant a lot that he bought it. The front was pink and brown with a cut out flower and it said "My wife, My love." Then, he wrote a very sweet and romantic note inside. Oh yeah, and he had already given me a box of See's. Yum! So, I put the card on the table telling him how much I loved it and he said, "You didn't read it all." I was like, "yes I did." So, I picked it up and turned the page (there was velum on the inside of the actual card) and it said, "Your treo is in the mail." Heck yes! I'm not exactly sure what a Treo is, but I do know that it's a very cool cellphone. This is my first time getting my very own phone (not a hand-me-down from someone) since my senior year of high school - almost 7 years ago. I cannot WAIT for it to come. I was totally surprised and blown away with all that Eric did for me.
So, after the 20 minutes were up the hostess came and said that she would be able to seat us. Yay! We had already studied the menu and planned out our meal. (I should have taken notes, so I could more thoroughly describe our food. Shoot, next time!) Eric: appetizer- cauliflower cheese soup, entree- garlic crusted lamb sirloin, dessert- some kind of baked bananas. Morgan: appetizer- the same soup, entree- roasted duck breast with red bell pepper risotto and spinach, dessert- berry tiramisu.
During dinner we randomly started talking to the couple next to us. They were so sweet and friendly. They graduated from Chico State and are now working here and are getting married at the end of August. We all exchanged numbers and have plans to get together in the near future.
