Fun weekend
This week we had lunch with Grandma (my mother in law) and Jill (Eric's littlest sis) and then with Grandma again another day with Kim (my other sister in law). Fun fun! We went to a wedding yesterday. The bride's family is family friends with Eric's family and all the kids grew up together. The wedding was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and I loved the bridesmaid dresses. They were red, tea length, v-neck, very flattering. My mom and aunt watched the boys, so Eric and I got some very rare time without any babies to worry about. It was very refreshing! Then that night (the wedding was at 11am) we went and had dinner at my inlaws. It was fun to hang out with both of my sister-in-laws. We hardly every get to see them, but we got to see both of them 2 different times in one week. Very fun!

Back from San Francisco
We had fun in San Francisco! We went to the zoo, the mall, had lunch with Kim at a yummy burrito shop, rested (a lot!), and basically just enjoyed our time together as a family and away from the usual busyness of life. Judah's favorite animal at the zoo was the penguins...because they actually did something. Most of the animals were just lying around and Judah hardly noticed they were there. When Aunt Kim got to the zoo we went to the petting zoo. Judah got to feed goats and sheep and it was hilarious watching the sheep follow Eric & Judah. They loved whoever had the food! Then Kim, Judah, & I rode the carousel. It's been awhile since I've ridden this one....and it made me feel a little dizzy.
Here is Samuel sitting up the night before we left.

Judah & I wore monkey masks in the zoo gift shop. He thought is was hilarious that I looked like a monkey and laughed and laughed. He wouldn't even look away from me for the picture. Too cute!

Here is Eric & Judah in front of a lion.

On our way to San Francisco!
This weekend will be Samuels first (overnight) family vacation. We're going to San Fran...yay!!! This will also be our first trip since last summer when we went to Santa Cruz, so we're not quite sure what to expect. We'll have our pack n play and we're also borrowing Jenna's, so hopefully they'll sleep alright.
We don't really have any expectations or plans because I don't think it would work anyway with the two little ones. The only thing we know for sure that we'll be doing is visiting the ZOO. I'm really excited because I know Judah will love all of the animals. It will be so nice to get out of town for a few days and just have fun with the fam!
Today we went shopping with my grandma and she bought the boys some warm clothes, so we're all set. We leave tomorrow morning, so we'll be sure to post lots of pics when we get home!

Reprieve from Judah & Samuel
I always feel a little guilty not talking (directly) about Judah & Samuel because I know that's why you're all hear. You want to see the cute kids!!! But, everything is (indirectly) about the boys and, besides, this is MY BLOG!! haha
Anyway, I just want to tell you all...I love clothes! Let me back up a little and tell you my clothes history:
-Growing up my mom would always buy cute clothes for me. So, did my grandma. I was a pretty well-dressed high school/early college student.
-When I got married at the age of 20 Eric & I were poor. Like most young newlyweds, so I just wore the clothes I had from before I was married.
-Seven months after our wedding I got pregnant. Being married to a frugal man I bought the least amount of maternity clothes as possible. And, definitely no expensive maternity clothes. I couldn't justify it with our budget.
-After being pregnant with Judah, obviously, it took me awhile to get my body back. So, I bought a (very) few amount of clothes. All I can remember is 2 tank tops and a dress for my brother-in-laws wedding.
-Finally, when my body was pretty much completely back I got pregnant AGAIN. This time I bought more maternity clothes, but only cheap stuff from Ross. My birthday & Christmas were during my pregnancy so my mom and mother-in-law bought me some cute stuff (thanks moms!!).
-Well, Samuel is only 4 months and my body is not back to normal, but I'm ready to have some decent clothes. I tried to talk myself into become a purse & shoes girl (because they always fit no matter how big or small you are), but I just can't do it. I like clothes better.
So, now that we have a decent amount of money (for us, that is) and I'm able to get some stuff I'm so excited! Today we went to Ross and I got an off-white button up sweater, some cowboy boots, and some brown lounge pants. See, I'm not too hard to please. They were cheap, but at least they were something new. Yay!
PS Judah will say just about anything now. Tell him to say "Hallelujiah" and he will. But, my personal favorites are banana (he says "mimi") and cell phone ("dada"). How he got those pronunciations, we will never know...but, they are pretty darn cute!

Laura, the babysitter
Today was my first time EVER leaving Samuel with someone other than my mom and my inlaws. Laura came over and babysat the boys while I went to a coffe shop to read my Bible and drink an iced mocha. It was great to have some "me time" and I felt very refreshed afterwards. It was also Laura's first time EVER babysitting and she did a great job! She said the boys did good, too, which makes me feel great. Thanks Laura!!
Here are some pictures from Regan's birthday:

Birthday Party
Judah had a great time on Saturday at his friend Regan's 2nd birthday. It was a pink flower theme with all girls there, but he didn't care at all! He got to hit a pinata for the first time ever- and he LOVED it! He did not want his turn to be over. I had to make him give the bat to the next little girl. It was so cute watching him hit the flower pinata. When it broke Ryann (Regan's mom) had put in jewelry for the little girls and cars for Judah. And CANDY!! During the party Judah had fruit leather, raspberry lemonade, a lollipop, cupcake, and ice cream. Of couse, he was loving that! He would not put his lollipop down, but instead, held it in one hand while eating the cupcake and ice cream in the other.
We got some super cute pictures of Judah and the little ladies...but, we cannot find our camera. I put it in the side pocket of my diaper bag, but now it's MIA. Hopefully, it will show up soon. I'm really worried... WHEN it does show up, I'll post some pictures of my little ladies' man.

Memoirs of a Young Mom (I should write a book!)
Well, I got NO break today....but, that's the way it goes sometimes when you have 2 under 2, huh? Judah went down for a nap around 2 and Samuel was already asleep. A few minutes later Samuel woke up, so I tried to nurse him back to sleep, but he decided he wanted to stay up. After playing for awhile I FINALLY got him back to sleep and the phone rang again and woke him up. After talking to that person I got Samuel to sleep, laid him down, and then the phone rang AGAIN, which woke up Judah. So, right when I got Samuel down Judah woke up.
Judah is awake now, but perfectly content playing his guitar on the floor. Even though they're awake, they're both easy happy boys. It would just be nice to get a few things done and have some alone time. You know what I mean?
Today was storytime at Barnes & Noble. We didn't go last week because the boys were sick, so it feels like FOREVER since we've been there. During our moving we were going there 3-4 times a week, so not being there for two weeks is a lot for us. I love all the workers and (thankfully) they all love Judah. Even when he doesn't like to share the trains. For some reason, he also pushed his little friend Elliana, not once, but twice. It really stresses me out because I feel bad for Elliana and Jenna (her mom) and I don't really know how to discipline Judah. Especially in public while trying to hold Samuel. Ugh! It makes me want to go home, but I stick it out anyway. Hopefully he's learning social skills during my hot flashes of embarrassment and stress.
Today there were 4 moms at storytime who were probably in their late 30s to early 40s. It's such a different place to be with little ones. I know that I'm a super young mom, but I actually really enjoy it. I feel incredibly blessed to have met my husband so young (18) and had my first baby at 21. Although, the financial stability (especially owning a home) is something I wish I had, I definitely would not do anything different if I had to do it all over.
Thanks for the encouragement to take the boys to the gym childcare. I guess I'll suck it up and take them. I'll let you know how that goes.

Tuesday Happenings
Unfortunately Eric did not get a break from laboring (which meant neither did I) for labor day. He had to work most of the day Saturday, Sunday afternoon, and Monday morning. So now, it's already Tuesday and we never really had a break. Both of the boys are napping at the same time right now, so this is as much of a break as I'm going to get. I love that Eric is self-employed, so he doesn't have to ask for time off to go on a vacation, can meet us for lunch, he came to every single midwife appointment with both boys, but sometimes it's hard when he has to work long hours to finish a project. Although, we are very thankful and blessed that he has been staying so busy. Work isn't always this consistent.
Yesterday we had a bbq in our apartment rec room. There were about 25 people who stopped by between 5 and 9pm. We bbqed hamburgers and played Catch Phrase and Cranium. I love games so much and miss playing them with mine and Eric's old roommates. One time Eric, Scott (his twin brother), their roommates, and two of my bestfriends (hi Cari!) played a hilarious game of Cranium. I will never forget Eric having to act out the word "hormone." Too funny!
Today we walked over to a coffee shop/cafe around the corner and had lunch with my Grandma, Aunt, and cousin. I love that we have a coffee shop within walking distance. It's so nice to go for a walk, then stop in and get an iced mocha. Yum!
The gym that I go to is also around the corner. It's a great gym with a daycare. The daycare even has video monitors, so you can check in on your kids while you work out. So, I signed Judah & Samuel to go in there this morning and Thursday morning. But, I never showed up. I am SO SCARED to have someone watch Samuel that I don't know. I know Judah will play with the kids and toys and have a great time. But, what if Samuel gets fussy? (Yeah, they'll come get me). But, they don't know how to hold him and give him his paci, etc.. Maybe I'm being ridiculous, but I really am nervous to take him in there. Any advice? I can just go in the evenings and weekends, but it would be nice to be able to go in the mornings when we have the time.

Love it!
This is hilarious!!! I've been wanting to do it for months, but because I have a Mac it wouldn't let me. But, I found out it does on Explorer. Yay!! Eric and my results are fun, but Judah's are too much. Everyone used to say I looked like Shirley Temple, but lo and behold, my baby does too. I've been running lots of photos, but because some people have slow computers I'll refrain from posting all of my results.
If you decide to do it leave in the comments who you look like!!!

I posted this one because my percentages were so high. Almost 100%- we're almost twins!
