Well, our computer was in the shop for 5 days. It didn't actually take them that long to fix it, but we didn't have time to pick it up before then. We're just busy, busy, busy with our two boys and getting ready for Mark & Laura's wedding. They are getting married on the 8th and I am throwing her a shower at my in-laws on the 1st.
Yesterday Eric had the day off and it was busy, but super fun. We got a lot done that I had been waiting and waiting to do. I got a cute, cheap dress for their rehearsal at Ross and a pair of shorts. Then, we went to TJ Maxx, but couldn't find anything. In 2 weeks Judah & I are starting swim lessons, but there are no swimsuits that fit my breastfeeding self. Seriously, all the stores seem almost out of swimsuits and it's only June. What's up with the "end of the season" sales. Hello!! Wasn't the first day of summer just a few weeks ago?
Anyway, then we went to Winco and finally got some food. Winco is a big trip with two babies, so lately we've been living off the food we get at Costco. It doesn't give you much variety, but at last, we went and our refrigerator is FULL!! :) Then, we met Ellie, my mother-in-law at Costco. She bought us some stuff (thank you!!!) and then we got some lunch there.
After that the boys came home and I got my hair CUT and HIGHLIGHTED! I was definitely needing something new with my hair. I actually went to the guy that cuts Eric's hair. I was a little freaked out, but he actually did a great job and I highly recommend him. No, he's not gay, he's kind of a punk kid and he does great on girl's hair. So, you should go to KC Ellis at Trinity. Let us know if you want his number.
Then, after I got home Judah was just waking up from his nap. We went to Walmart to see if they would put our new tires on our car (they wouldn't) and get some stuff for Laura's shower. If you have any suggestions for bridal showers email me (don't put it in the comments because Laura will read it...). Then, we went to In N Out for dinner. Finally, we came home, put the babies to bed, watched an episode of Lost on dvd, and went to bed.
Today Samuel had his 2 month appointment. And, this is the info you've all been waiting for.... he is 15lbs, 3oz (that's off the charts) and 24 3/4 inches (97th percentile). He's a big baby, but proportianate (how do you spell that word?) Basically, since he's grown that much it means that he's super healthy, no heart problems, and no genetic disorders. Because he has a cold (ugh!) he didn't have to get his shots today (yay!).

Suntanning
Today was a very special day for Eric and the boys. It was their first time ALL ALONE! Unlike me, Eric did not freak out, but I could tell he was a bit hesitant. Laura & I had plans to lay out by her parents pool. Eric couldn't understand why we couldn't "suntan" in our backyard. Eric, it's because of the pool! So anyway, as of right now I look just as white (but Laura tells me it takes a few hours) Actually, I just took a blogging break and now I look pink. Hopefully this pink will turn to brown soon. We plan to do more of these layout sessions before her wedding, so we'll be looking black!

Family Trip
Last Tuesday we took our first family trip with Samuel. Because we have such crazy, busy schedules I decided we need to be more intentional about family time and couple time. So, we went to the Turtle Bay Museum in Redding. Eric and I went there 4 years ago before we were married, so it was fun to go back with our boys. Judah loved it and did GREAT in the car. Samuel had a little bit of a hard time being in his carrier for so long, but that's understandable.
Judah especially loved the aquarium. There were so many fish to watch and he made sure to say "hi" to each one. There was also a butterfly exhibit, which wasn't as impressive as we expected. We also stopped at the Gap outlet and got a few things for the boys. (Including a very cute little blazer for Judah next winter)

Bottles & Breastfeeding

6 weeks!

We love watermelon! (Judah calls it me-mine)
18 months ago we tried giving Judah a bottle. He cried and screamed and gagged, but never actually drank from it. I didn't need to force it on him, because technically I COULD be there every time he needed to eat. So, Judah never took a bottle. At 6 months he started eating rice cereal and that's when I didn't always need to be there for him. He was 6 weeks old when we tried and I just thought I tried too late.
Before Samuel was born we knew that, if for nothing else, he would need to take a bottle during Mark & Laura's wedding. Eric & I are both in it (yay!) and so someone would need to feed our little man. My plan was to give him the bottle at 2 weeks. That never actually happened, so Sunday we decided to try it. When Eric gave him the bottle he had no problem drinking it. I think it was so easy because he takes a pacifier (Judah didn't). And, so began my little bit of freedom.. But, watching Eric feed Samuel made me realize why I love breastfeeding so much. It's such an intimate cuddle time with my baby, which I really do LOVE.

My little sleeper
Saturday morning Eric went to the driving range (for the first time in a looong time...) early in the morning. Samuel woke up to bed fed at about 7:30am and I remember thinking "I hope Judah sleeps in for at least another half hour." Samuel woke back up in, what I thought was only a few minutes, but when I looked at the clock it was 9:38am. Judah always wakes up between 7:30 and 8:30. I thought maybe Eric had gotten home and got Judah up and I just hadn't heard them. So, I got up to check it out.
Judah was still in his crib, which really freaked me out. I flashed back to his newborn stage and started thinking, "Is he breathing? Is he alive?" I couldn't wait long enough to see if his body was moving, so I touched his back. Right away he popped up and said, "Papa?" Who knows how long he would have slept if I hadn't woken him up. This morning he woke up at 8:45 (which is still really good), but I hope the 9:30 or 10 thing happens a little more often!

One-handed typing
Yes, I am holding Samuel as I type. We had a good time on our anniversary. I keep saying next year we're going to do something super romantic (like a cruise), but I don't think I'd actually want to leave our babies for that long. Although, we are going to go on a little mini-vacation to San Fran sometime this summer. We want to go to the zoo, Fisherman's Wharf, the Old Navy bargain basement, and see Aunt Kim. So, that counts for our anniversary trip.

3 YEARS!!!!
Today is our 3 year anniversary. It’s crazy that Eric and I have only been together for 5 years and married for 3 because it seems like forever. I can’t imagine my life without him. The past 3 years have been the best of my life. I have learned so much about Jesus, love, family, myself, freedom, etc.. through my husband. I know God has used him in my life and done things in me that would not have been possible without Eric.
We’ve been through really, really, really hard times in our marriage and have made it through. I know we can make it through anything. And, we have two perfect boys, which have only strengthened our marriage.
I love being in love and feel so blessed to have married the man of my dreams and my bestfriend. I could not have thought up a better husband if I tried. He is more than perfect for me!!
Ok, I know that’s mushy enough, but I really do love Eric so much. Tonight my mom is going to watch Judah, so Eric, Samuel, and I are going to go out to dinner. Then, we’re going to go to Barnes & Noble to read. It’s really all I want to do. I LOVE B&N, but when I’m there I’m always chasing Judah. So, I’m looking forward to reading a magazine and drinking an ice mocha.
