100 Things About Me (to pass the time, nope no baby yet)

1. I guess we’ll start with the obvious: I love Jesus.
2. I love my husband. His name is Eric.
3. We will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on June 7th.
4. July 7th will mark our 5 year “relationship” anniversary.
5. I love Judah and Sweet Pea. Being a mom is the most amazing, fulfilling thing ever.
6. We go to a G12 church, which means that our Pastors have 12 disciples, all of us have 12 disciples, etc... Eric & I are on the Pastor’s 12s.
7. When Eric & I first started dating every 7th I would say “this is my longest relationship.” I did it for a long time until I realized how much is annoyed Eric.
8. I tell the same stories over and over again. It annoys Eric, but they’re just so dang funny!
9. I was on swim team for 1 year in high school. But, my dad doesn’t remember.
10. I used to be r eally, really messy. I’ve gotten a lot cleaner since marrying Eric.
11. I had an eating disorder in high school, but I never called it that until years later.
12. I want to have a lot of kids. My mom says I used to say I want 8. So, I’m sure Eric and I will end up with A LOT (whatever that means).
13. I know Sweet Pea will come at the perfect time, but 8lbs is plenty big enough for a baby. (I w as 9lbs!)
14. I always pictured myself with a daughter. After having Judah I realize how much I LOVE being a mom to a son.
15. Hot pink is my favorite color. Maybe that explains wanting a daughter.
16. If I could do my wedding over I’d have it in Hawaii.
17. I hate drama.
18. I love my church and my pastors and I don’t understand how anyone couldn’t.
19. I LOVE to read other people’s blogs.
20. I got this 100 things about me idea from another blog.
21. I wonder how long the longest pregnancy was. I hope I don’t break the record.
22. Birthing/babies/delivery/pregnancy consumes most of my thoughts right now. Bear with me!
23. I hate germs. I never thought about them until Judah was born.
24. I LOVE chocolate. See’s is my favorite. Milk chocolate is my favorite.
25. I love to watch reality tv. My husband doesn’t really like to watch tv.
26. That’s definitely a good thing for me or I’d watch way too much.
27. I hate gossip. Gossip destroys families, friendships, etc...
28. I want my baby to be born in April. Especially if it’s a girl. The birthstone is a diamond.
29. I like to go for walks, especially in the park.
30. Judah likes it, too!
31. A coffee shop is the best place to hang out. An tall iced decaf mocha with whip isn’t too bad either.
32. Alcohol is overrated. I prefer a pepsi.
33. My dream was always to get married and have babies.
34. Now I’m living my dream.
35. My husband is a romantic, but he’d never admit it.
33. He’s also a twin.
34. Judah has no first cousins. We don’t know when Eric’s siblings will have kids. It will be a LOOONNGG time for my sister (she’s 16).
35. My sis and I are 7 years apart. It was basically like we both lived the life of an only child.
36. Our childhoods were so completely different it’s surprising that we have the same parents.
37. But I turned out all right. Right?
38. I LOVE to hang out at Barnes & Noble. I used to read in there for hours. Now I chase Judah around.
39. I don’t know who Judah looks like. Some people say “he looks just like you” and some say “he looks just like Eric.” Only time will tell.
40. I think personality-wise he’s just like me. My spitting image.
41. Eric and I kissed for the first time 3 months after we got enaged.
42. We were going to wait until we got married. But, we moved out wedding date back 9 months.
43. I don’t regret that (the kiss, not moving the wedding)
44. I played with barbies until I sold them in a yard sale in 7th grade.
45. I can’t wait to wear size 4 jeans again.
46. Hopefully, I’ll do it in 2 months. It took about 5 with Judah.
47. I am soooo sick of maternity clothes!
48. I can’t wait to be a bridesmaid in Laura’s wedding.
49. I love weddings, but I would NEVER want to do mine over. I’m glad it’s only once in your life.
50. I’m serious about my relationship with God.
51. I’m serious about having fun.
52. Good, clean fun. Yes, there is such thing.
53. I used to love music.
54. I don’t have time for it anymore.
55. I’ve written in a journal since elementary school.
56. I’m a good writer.
57. I’m not a good blogger because I try to please my audience. I can’t write without thinking about who’s going to read it.
58. And, being scared I’ll offend someone.
59. I should get over that!
60. I was a horrible student. I failed chemistry and had to take some other science class.
61. I’m smart, but I don’t try. At all.
62. I think I’ve improved in the self-discipline area. But, I ‘m still improving...
63. My husband is the exact opposite. He was a great student and has pretty much the best self-discipline of anyone I’ve ever met.
64. I credit him (obviously) and my in-laws.
65. Outwardly it looks like I’ve helped Eric improve. Because I’m louder and move outgoing.
66. But the truth is Eric has made me into such a better person. As cheesy as it sounds...
67. Noone else would ever be able to put up with me. I love him!
68. We started dating when I was 18.
69. Got engaged when I was 19.
70. Married at 20.
71. Pregnant & gave birth at 21.
72. Pregnant again at 22.
73. Will give birth again at 23.
74. It’s been eventful. What will 24 bring?
75. My dream job: host of the Amazing Race. Travel experience, no pressure.
76. I love trips.
77. But traveling with a baby is not as easy.
78. I LOVE to shop.
79. Good thing we don’t use credit cards. :)
80. My hair is naturally curly.
81. I have bangs for the first time in my life.
82. I am not a bang person and am already growing them out.
83. I’m too low maintenance.
84. I like make-up, but I don’t really know how to wear it. Maybe someday I’ll get a “consultation.”
85. I wear the same make-up everyday.
86. For dressier occassions I wear mascara and eye liner at the bottom of my eyes.
87. I love my mother-in-law’s salads.
88. My husband doesn’t like mine and I don’t blame him. Ellie, what is the secret?!?!
89. Eric compliments me every night on dinner. Even if I make grilled cheese and tomato soup.
90. It’s sweet, but sometimes annoying...
91. I love to swim, but probably won’t be wearing a swimsuit this summer.
92. I used to love swimsuits...until I got pregnant. I have about 15 right now.
93. Well, maybe I’ll wear a tankini.
94. One piece swimsuits are hilarious. On me at least...
95. I love to go out to eat. I could do it everyday for every meal.
96. I do not understand how my husband prefers eating at home.
97. Maybe it’s because I cook dinner. But, he still does the dishes...
98. I want to homeschool my kids. But I wonder, how do you homeschool the older ones if you have a baby or a toddler?
99. I already know what pre-school I want Judah to go to. Tuesday & Thursday mornings.
100. I can’t wait to buy a house, but I’m not in any hurry.

Sweet Pea Update

Midwife Appointment 4/24

Well, we had our midwife appointment.....and I am 4cm dilated and 80% effaced!! That's what I was when I went to the hospital, had my water broken, and Judah was born that night.

The midwife asked me what I wanted to do and Eric & I decided that we want to just wait and let things happen on their own. It was a great experience with Judah, but this time we're believing the baby will come on it's own at the perfect time and when it's ready. Breaking my water would be a lot easier with making sure Judah is ok, but we're also ok with having a spontaneous delivery! Maybe tonight...

No news is...no news

Well, we're still here and the baby is still snuggly in my belly. Judah will point to my belly and say "baby" all the time. I think he'll be confused when it's actually here. Today is the 23rd. I've always been partial to the 23rd because my birthday is November 23rd. I think it's a GREAT day to have a baby. I hope Sweet Pea thinks so, too. We've done everything we can possibly do and now it's just a matter of maintaining. Bags are packed, snacks for the hospital ready, all the baby laundry is done. We're trying to keep the car full of gas, laundry done, and dishes washed.
If the baby isn't here by tonight I have another midwife appointment tomorrow. Last night I couldn't sleep very well because I kept thinking "tonight is the night." I woke up one time and I thought to myself "has my water broke?" My heart started to beat really fast and I started to get nervous. "Should I get up? Well, I guess it's not going to change anything whether I get up or not." So, I got up and obviously, my water had not broken. Eric thought that was pretty funny. The midwives DO still have my due date at May 3rd, so it COULD be that long (although I hope not and strongly doubt it.) I dread calling anyone though, because as soon as one of our numbers shows up on the caller id I know they're thinking "this is it." And, I don't blame you...I would too!

As for Judah, he's learned two words in the last few weeks I was hoping he'd never learn. "No" and "mine." He also learned to shake his head no. I've equaled it out by teaching him to say "please." His words are just SOOOO adorable. Here is a list of a few funny ones:
Caca: all done or cracker
Jaca: jacket
Mimi: Banana
Mapes: Grapes

Well, maybe we'll be calling you soon....or, maybe you'll just read another "baby's not here yet" blog entry.

A little recap and some new news, too!

About Easter....we had a great time! On Saturday, we went to a little Easter festival thing with our friends Jason, Ryann, and their little girl Regan. Judah had fun with the Easter egg hunt. He put two eggs in his basket, then dumped them out, and just wanted to watch the other kids. We put them back in his basket for him, though, so he could get a prize. Judah also had his first experience in a bounce house. There were about 5 other kids all over the age of 6 who were crazy jumpers and not really paying attention to Judah. He loved it, but I was freaking out. I made Eric get him out after a few minutes, but boy did he enjoy those minutes. We also got to pet bunnies, which of course, he loved. I think it would be so fun to get him a bunny, in theory, but I don't know if I really want to take care of one. I guess we'll wait a couple years until he can take that responsibility.
On Easter Sunday we went to church in the morning and we went to my Grandma Nancy and Bill's for dinner. We had a 2nd Easter egg hunt for Judah. He found his first egg and there was a car inside the egg, so that was the end of that. As much as we tried to get him to keep hunting he was happy with his car and done with the eggs. Maybe next year...

As for the big news: I had my midwife appointment today! I am 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. Her guess is that I will have the baby this weekend. Yay!!! Eric and I said to eachother that we'd like to have the baby Friday or Saturday, it would work well with our schedule! :) With Judah she told us we'd probably have the baby by the weekend and we ended up having him the Wednesday after, so still pretty close. Cheryl, the midwife, is on call this weekend and she is my favorite. So, pray that Saturday is the day! We can't wait to meet our little Sweet Pea!

Well, we're spending these last few days (weeks?) doing all the things that will be a little more difficult once Sweet Pea gets here. We got out MBUD Stroller, put it together, and took it for a test drive in the park. It was the first beautiful day today after many rainy ones. We LOVE our stroller and, hopefully, the walking will help to induce labor. Judah (and Eric) had fun going down the slide with the many other kids at the park. That place was packed- I guess all of Chico was ready for some sun.
On Saturday we're going to go out to breakfast at one of my favorite places- Sin of Cortez. (For the non-Chicoans, the "sin" is only coffee). Then, we'll probably stroll around the Farmer's Market and downtown. The more walking the better...
And, Sunday is Easter. Of course, we'll teach Judah about Jesus being risen from the dead, because that's what Easter is about. But, I'm really excited to give him his Easter basket. Recieving an Easter basket is always so much fun, but I'm more excited to give Judah his. Yay!
And, last but not least, EVERYTHING for Sweet Pea is ready to go. The clothes and blankets are washed & put away, our bags are packed and in the car, and we have a Moses basket AND a cradle! Now, all we're doing is waiting! :)

Too tired to blog..

Well, there's lots to talk about but I'm exhausted. My body just feels tired and it will be nice to be done with pregnancy. But, here are some highlights:

-Eric & I were sick with the stomach flu last week. It's the first time I've ever seen Eric really sick, throwing up. I wanted to comfort him, so while he was throwing up I was rubbing his back and said "it's ok." He responded right then with, "I know." Later, I asked him if he wanted me to say that & he said no. haha, it was funny afterwards because he's definitely NOT the baby-me sickie. Although, he did like when I prayed for him. :) Unfortunately, this horrible flu bug has been passed onto others. Hopefully, it's gone for good!

-I had my baby shower on Saturday! It was so much fun!!! My mother-in-law, Ellie, and my sis-in-laws Kim & Jill did such a good job with everything. The decorations, food, and games were PERFECT! And, we're getting our dream Mountain Buggy Urban Double Stroller. (Stroller names are too funny!) We also got so many other wonderful things that we need for Sweet Pea. I'll post pictures are soon as *Kim* sends them to me.

-I had my midwife appointment yesterday and I am now still 1cm dilated, but 70% effaced. Now, we just have to finish up on all the last minute preparations: packing for the hospital & for Judah, getting the baby's sleeping arrangements figured out, and I think that's about it. Not bad!

-I love ebay! I sold a maternity skirt that I got a yard sale while pregnant with Judah. I never really liked it that much, so decided to sell it. It sold for $26.50. Also, our swimsuits are doing well. Yay for ebay!

Something's Happening!

Today I had my midwife appointment and I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. For those of you who don't know, dilated means how much your uterus is open and effaced is how thin your cervix is. Or something like that... So, I could have this baby tomorrow and I could have it May 3rd, although preferably not. The midwives still have my "due date" at May 3rd, but say it will probably be earlier than that. Duh, I could have told them that! ;)
Really though, I know the baby will come when it's ready. We're just so anxious to meet little Sweet Pea! Today we set up our infant carseat and Eric strapped in a teddy bear. When he did that Judah started crying and freaking out because he wanted the bear out. But, we did put the carseat in the car and he seems fine with that. I'm sure he'll love a little friend in the back seat with him.
