Finally an update!

J & S (1 wk)
As much as I hate to admit it, we have taken less photos than we did with Judah. I never wanted to do this. Goal this week: take more pictures of the boys together.

Sweet Pea.
Samuel is doing great. He sleeps great, eats great, and poops great and that's about all he does. He's adored by his big brother. Although one thing is, he does NOT like to sleep in his cradle. He conks out easily when he's held, but as soon as you lay him down he's wide awake. We went through this sleep while held/wake in bed cycle for an hour last night before he'd finally sleep in his own bed. He was down to 7lbs, 11oz 3 days after birth, but has his 2 week appointment on Monday. He eats a lot, so I'm sure he'll be right up there.

Big Brother.
Judah is going through quite the adjustment. As much as he LOVES "Baby," I'm sure it is hard going from getting all the attention to sharing it with this little baby that wants to be held all the time. He loves to give Samuel smooches and rub his face while saying "gentle." Judah also loves to point out all of his body parts.
He's had a harder time going to bed lately and that's probably because Samuel's always awake when he has to go to sleep. We're trying our best to give him lots of extra love and attention and deal with situations that come up with wisdom.

Papa.
Eric is back to work (much to my dismay). He's been having lots of special time with Judah and is adjusting quite well to being a father of two, which of course, I knew he would. Eric seems to handle every situation with grace and patience, which is definitely what our family needs.

Me.
Well, the first week was quite the adjustment for me as well. Not just Judah. I definiely struggled with the "Baby Blues" and felt weepy and emotional. I knew that God had something better for me and wants me to enjoy every moment with my precious boys. I know that he has lifted this off of me and I feel so much better! I know that these feelings are "normal," but normal isn't always good. So anyway, this week (after lots of rest and lots of help from Eric) I feel 110% better physically and emotionally. We even went for our first walk last night! Yay!

We are all busy, but having so much fun as a family of 4! Every time I look at my 3 boys I realize how incredibly God has blessed me. There's really nothing more I could ask for!

  1. So precious!! I also suffered from the baby blues the week after I had the baby, but thankfully they are long gone and I'm just enjoying the baby now! I'm glad you finally updated, I was wondering how you were :)
